Paula Caleffi holds a PhD in History (history of the Americas) from the Complutense University in Madrid (1990). Today, she is a professor and researcher in the Studies on Indigeneous peoples Department of the programme for postgraduate studies in History at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS) in Brazil. She also coordinates the History Chair.
She heads the following projects: "Etnossustentabilidade e Economia Solidária com comunidade Kaingang/RS" and "Construindo um diálogo intercultural: a escuta da alteridade Guaraní".
