Democracy and globalisation
The project of a « Universal Declaration of Democracy » was initiated in 2012 by Federico Mayor and Karel Vašák. It was presented to the Council of Europe on 8th October 2012, signed and supported by numerous personalities and civil society members. GERM, fully involved in this initiative, is responsible for collecting your Comments and suggestions (which we ask you to enter in this Form) on this project for the United Nations.

World Forum for Democracy - “Gender Equality: Whose Battle?” from November 19th to 21st 2018

A year after the #MeToo movement first started, the World Forum for Democracy 2018, from 19 to 21 November, will focus on gender equality and women’s rights, in particular, women’s public, political and economic participation, and on combating violence against women. Dolores Delgado Garcia, Spanish Minister of Justice, and Marlène Schiappa, French Minister of State for Gender Equality, will speak at the opening session.
