Euro-Mediterranean
Born with the 1995 Barcelona Conference, the euro-mediterranean partnership is a peculiar and emblematic regional experiment. On the one hand, it gathers together over a common prospect the mediterranean shores where oppositions and rapprochements used to follow each other through history. And on the other, this partnership fosters the idea of a project to be developped on the basis of an original cultural exchange, mutually respectful of regional identities. This section presents this euro-mediterranean partnership as an example of "great regional response" to the challenges of current globalisation trends. It aims at giving a critical insight into the stakes and debates this partnership brings up, especially on the geopolitical level, as well as on the economic and cultural ones.
