October 30th was Equal Pay Day for Latina women in the United States. In remembrance of that day, Statista and Mashable teamed up to visualize the impact that the gender pay gap has on women of different ethnicities. On average, American working women are paid 79 cents for every dollar that working men make. For some ethnicities however, the pay gap is much larger than that, as data provided by the National Women's Law Center shows. While Asian American women get paid 83.5 cents for every dollar white, non-Hispanic men earn, Latina women get paid no more than 54.6 cents. According to these earnings their Equal Pay Day is more than half a year later than for women overall. To earn as much as white, non-Hispanic men earned in 2014 alone, they would have had to work 10 extra months.
