An analysis of the strong increase in private higher education in Europe is the subject of a new publication entitled “The Rising Role and Relevance of Private Higher Education”, from UNESCO/CEPES.
Published as part of its “Higher Education for a Knowledge Society” series, the volume provides a detailed analysis of the substantial increase in private higher education in 13 European countries (Albania, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Spain, Estonia, The Russian Federation, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine). The authors also explore the sector's rising relevance in the broader context of the goals and objectives of the Bologna process.
