Doctor in philosophy, he began his studies in chemistry and physics before turning to philosophy, psychology, literature and journalism. He published different comparative literature studies (on Sade, Sacher-Masoch and Jung amongs others), as well as sociological and anthropological studies in German and International journals.
Wolfgang Kaempfer is a member of the Historical Anthropology Society at the Freie Universitat in Berlin. He was professor at the Universities of Essen, Trieste, Padoue as well as at the Freie Universitat and the Humboldt-Universitat in Berlin. Former Director of the Goethe Institues at Alger, Toulouse and Trieste.
Since 1985, he has been studying the structure of time.
