Bernard Latarjet did most of his career in the cultural public administration. He was the general representative of the film archives from 1984 to 1987. He was then at the head of the Fondation de France from 1987 to 1991. After being special adviser for the Minister of Culture, he became in charge of the Arts and Public Works for the General Secretary of the President (1992-1995). On April 30th 1995, he was appointed president of the association of the Maison d’Izieu (memorial for the Jewish children). Between 1996 and 2007, he was the president of the public structure of the Parc and the Grande Halle de la Villette (Paris). Today, he coordinates the application of "Marseilles - Provence" for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2013.
