Hirtt, Nico

He teaches Physics, Mathematics, and Computer science at high-school level in Belgium. He is a founding member of the APED (Organisation for a democratic school). He also is the chief editor of the journal “L’école démocratique” (The democratic school), and of its website www.ecoledemocratique.org.

He has been researching on on the theme of inequality at school (Inégaux devant l'école, Enquête en province du Hainaut sur les déterminants sociaux de l'échec et de la sélection scolaires, Aped, 1997) jointly with Jean-Pierre Kerckhofs.
