Jack Ralite is a journalist, ex-Mayor of Aubervilliers and Senator. He previously was in charge of the Culture and Education section for the city of Aubervilliers. He contributed, with Gabriel Garan, to the creation of the first permanent theatre in the suburbs of Paris in 1965. He was the deputy of Aubervilliers/Stains/La Courneuve from 1973 to 1981. In 1987 he created the Culture States General, which produced a Declaration of the Rights of Culture, translated in 14 languages. He is a defender of the cultural diversity which can be achieved, according to him, through the expression of a cultural exception.
